Standard 8.G.3 I can transform objects by using coordinates from translation, rotations, and reflections and recognizing the relationships between the coordinates and the transformation.

TASK: Students studied Chuck Close and Kehinde Wiley's portraits. They created a grid on both an image of a popular figure and used a grid to draw a proportionate, scaled drawing. Common Core Standards Addressed RST.6-8.3, WHST.6-8.8, and L.8.6

Students create a math test - number system, rate, ratio, and proportional reasoning and equivalent fractions, expressions, and order of operations-- Division of fractions, fluently dividing multi-digit numbers, add, subtract, multiply, divide decimals, use the distributive property, ratios (three ways), ratios in tables, equations, graphed, unit rate, and percent, read, evaluate or write expressions and solve order of operations problems, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing equations.

Students will create a fraction story problem using adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions and mixed numbers with uncommon denominators. You must write out the problems, include pictures and be able to solve with a correct answer. Please put your answer on a separate piece of paper. Each group will be able to try and solve other groups fraction story problem.

Standard 7.NS.A.1-Apply and extend previous understandings of addition and subtraction to add and subtract rational numbers; represent addition and subtraction on a horizontal or vertical number line diagram.

Students will write and graph linear equations in the three forms (slope-intercept, point-slope form, and standard form). Graphing will be at 3 Levels 1 being beginner, 2 Intermediate 3 Advanced

Students will complete a four-month graphic organizer that shows the relationship between numbers in the Real Number system. Students will use real life situations to will demonstrate how real numbers are used in daily life will a focus being on their lives.

Fractions: Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing Fractions; correctly ordering fraction

Students will use the varied relationships of linear equations to describe a model for a situation they created. They will state what the slope and y-intercept represent. This project focuses on one situation but can easily be extended to multiple situations and multi-variable equations.
