Fictional Narrative
While studying the elements of realistic fiction, students write a realistic fiction story that demonstrates their understanding of the stages of a plot and characteristics of a story. Becoming Experts on Space: Pecha Kucha
Create a Pecha Kucha presentations (10-15 slides, 20 secs per slide) Pick the 5 main topics you want to discuss that answer your topic. Each answer is 2-3 slides, or 40-60 secs. Each slide has a picture, and only a few words. Be specific for your classmates, prepare well! You must share all the websites you used for research on a reference page. End with a Kahoot! 6-8 questions related to your presentation. Marks will be recorded for marks.

CyberSmart Poster Rubric
Individually or in pairs, each student will create a poster that advertises a theme about Cybersmart. Think: Who is your audience? What is your slogan? Use the 'z pattern' & the principle of balance. Use colours & images to depict your theme. You may use clip art but most of the poster should be your drawings and colouring. There are 3 reflection questions, which must be glued onto the back. The poster is due on February 24, 2017. Late assignments will be accepted until February 28, 2017.

Language/Social Studies Current Events Rubric

Write a persuasive piece of writing that convinces a reader why they should try a new activity, sport or hobby that you are interested in. This persuasive writing task must contain 3-4 paragraphs to organise your ideas . You should incorporate persuasive strategies and convincing persuasive language to help strengthen your argument. Your writing must planned and carefully edited, paying attention to your spelling and punctuation.

Fitness Class
Create a fun and safe fitness class to lead your peers through. The course should 5 creative, safe and fun activities for your peers to complete. Create a poster explaining your fitness class that includes: a list of the equipment used, a diagram of circuit or course, and directions/rules for completing the class safely. Your goal is to make this fun for the class. You could create a theme, and plays songs to go with the theme. Be creative!

Religion Assignment
Find "good news stories", stories of good deeds that people have done not because they wanted power or money, but because they cared about others. Summarize the article in your own words and answer the following questions and place them below the article. 1. What would motivate a person to do a good deed like this? 2.
