• Students will write example paragraphs into a 3 column chart (text structure, definition, example paragraph) for each type of text structure adhering to a science topic studied this school year. • Responses totally unrelated to a science topic studied this school year will be scored a 0. • A response totally copied from the text(s) with no original student writing should be scored a 0.

Independent-Reading Book Review Rubric
Students read a book and review the book they have read using persuasive language to indicate the reader's opinion about the book. The reviewer summarizes the ideas of the book and recommends or does not recommend this book to another student based on insights he/she may have regarding the book. it is a critical analysis of the book. The scholar objectively evaluates whether the author(s) have fulfilled their objectives in the book and whether they have used persuasive and unbiased evidence to support their claims. Scholar also rates the book on a scale of 1-5 and provides details to support his/her rating.
