7 rubric China Travel Guide       popup preview
The purpose of this unit is to facilitate student learning about the world in which we live. The student will imagine that he/she, like "Momma" in the novel THE WATSON'S GO TO BIRMINGHAM: 1963, will travel with at least one family member, taking a 4 day tour of China. However, the trip should be planned with the travelers' unique interests, hobbies, and needs in mind. To be prepared for the trip, the student will use technology and print sources to conduct internet research in order to be able to present facts about the region's resources, culture, government, religion, geography, political atmosphere, social events, recreational pastimes, history, economics, etc. After the student has gathered all of the research, they will synthesize the information and develop a family travel guide for the region, taking his/her unique interests and family member's interests in mind.
