Still Life and Graphite Techniques
This is an assignment to teach the student the power of shading values, by drawing a still life. Shadows make parts of the artwork appear to go back. Highlights bring other parts toward us. A gradient is a subtle change from shadows to highlights. Gradients done right give the appearance of 3D forms, not just shapes.

Creative Color Wheel
After reviewing the 12 basic colors that make up the color wheel, students will apply basic geometry tools and principals to draw a symmetrical color wheel. Students will use the principles and elements of design to alter the basic wheel form into a more detailed, harmonious composition.
