Argumentative Paper - An Introduction
Basic rubric for an introductory argumentative paper on any topic. No research required but may be included if paper is based on an article. Look for the beginnings of a thesis, choosing a side and sticking with it, ability to persuade, and distinct paragraphs with supporting points. No rebuttal. Special attention paid to developing academic writing: Eliminating cliches, improving grammar, increasing vocabulary, including specific details.
