Muscluar system Disease/Disorder Project. Students create projects on diseases and/or disorders from the muscular system.

Rubric for evaluating student presentations on muscles. You are to think of two actions. (i.e. push up, pull up, squat) You need to model them on your Manikens with clay. Tell me the main muscles involved in this action. Each muscles origin, insertion, and action in this action you chose.

Students must create a 3-D cell model of ONE of the following cell transports: passive transport, diffusion, facilitated diffusion, osmosis, behavior of a cell in hypertonic solution, behavior of a cell in hypotonic solution, active transport, endocytosis, exocytosis, or sodium-potassium pump. All parts are labeled for your transport.

The rubric should consider the performance of the group as a whole, as well as individual contributions. The skit must: 1. Indicate a clear understanding and demonstration of your mode of transport. 2. Label actors (are you a molecule of water? bacteria? Carbohydrate? Protein?) 3. Creative and fun 4. Use your time wisely 5. All members must contribute

Must include: Nucleus, Nucleolus, Golgi Body, Rough ER, Smooth ER, Ribosomes, Lysosomes, Cytoskeleton. Must be able to tell me the function of each part.

Create a 2D or 3D model of a SARCOMERE with details of a THIN and THICK filaments. Also, include other important proteins such as troponin and tropomysosin. Highlight the A-band, I-band, H-zone and M-lines as well. (Refer to Figures in Chapter 8 and Nearpod notes). Use only non-perishable items to complete this model, unless it intended to be eaten after your presentation. All labels must be securely attached to the project. A key may also be assigned for the labels.

Oral communication is a prepared, purposeful presentation designed to increase knowledge, to foster understanding, or to promote change in the listeners' attitudes, values, beliefs, or behaviors. Oral communication takes many forms. This rubric is specifically designed to evaluate oral presentations of a single speaker at a time and is best applied to live or video-recorded presentations. For panel presentations or group presentations, it is recommended that each speaker be evaluated separately. This rubric best applies to presentations of sufficient length such that a central message is conveyed, supported by one or more forms of supporting materials and includes a purposeful organization. An oral answer to a single question not designed to be structured into a presentation does not readily apply to this rubric.
