Biome Project
Students will create a presentation with Google presentation that shows factors of the biome that distinguish it from the other biomes. They should show plants, animals, climate, biome location and precipitation that affect the biome. Upon completion, the student will present the information to the class as the teacher, handing copies of vocabulary and a 5 question quiz of your biome.

Is Use of Stem Cells in Research Ethical?
Students will research the ethical use of unused human embryos in research. Students must supply 4 reasons for and against use of human embryos in research designed to cure human diseases, giving 2 litigious or religious citations in support of each position. Students will focus on assigned human disease wishing to utilize such research, identifying the population subunit affected and how the disease impacts the human body. Lastly students will take a stance on whether use of human stem cells should be used in current research for the given disease. Students will be expected to write a formal research paper as well as create a model of the body organ affected by their assigned disease.

Human Anatomy & Physiology- Muscular System Project #3
Create a 2D or 3D model of a SARCOMERE with details of a THIN and THICK filaments. Also, include other important proteins such as troponin and tropomysosin. Highlight the A-band, I-band, H-zone and M-lines as well. (Refer to Figures in Chapter 8 and Nearpod notes). Use only non-perishable items to complete this model, unless it intended to be eaten after your presentation. All labels must be securely attached to the project. A key may also be assigned for the labels.

Food Web Project
Student will create a food web consisting of animals found in a specific biome that they choose. The student must name the animals, describe their habitat, identify the abiotic and biotic factors in the habitat, show the flow of energy in the food web, classify the organism as producer, consumer, or decomposer; and indicate how the organism obtains its energy. Please be creative. Use any household materials you would like. Possible project ideas: * Use a poster board and cut-outs from a magazine to demonstrate your food chain. * Use a clothes hanger, string and cut-outs of different plants and animals to demonstrate your food chain. Students can choose any ecosystem or group of animals. You may even want to show the food chain for your diet.

Animal Adaptations
Students read two articles on animal adaptations. They then chose one animal and used the boxes and bullets graphic organizer to document 3 adaptations that their animal has and why the adaptations exist. They then presented their animal in an informational writing piece to will create a chart or list of animal or plant adaptations and create an image of a newly adapted living thing from the Endangered Species list provided, label adaptations and explain why they were made.
