Leadership embraces the philosophy that all registered nurses are in leadership roles and have the capacity to use power wisely to influence goal attainment. A leader is viewed as a planner, organizer, initiator and practitioner who takes actions, accepts risks and is accountable for outcomes. My leadership clinical rotation helped me to develop skills in organizing, decision-making, changing, managing conflict, negotiating, using power, understanding control and authority, delegating, establishing priorities, and teaching and evaluating.
