ABOUT ME

 

       My name is Randy Owens. I was born in Marietta, GA on April 14, 1984. Soon after my birth I was adopted. I was raised in Easley, SC and attended Crosswell Elementary School, Gettys Middle School, and graduated from Easley High School. 

       On June 14, 2002, I joined the United States Army. After attending basic training at Ft. Jackson, SC, I went to advanced individual training (AIT) at Ft. Eustis, VA. On October 22, 2002, I graduated from AIT as a transportation movement control coordinator. After a two week long leave period, I was stationed in Aviano, Italy. On February 18, 2003, I deployed for the first time to Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. After three long months I returned to Italy. On July 7, 2004, I deployed for the second time to IKCF Iraq. I returned to Italy in July of 2005. My last deployment was to Germany in 2005. I was honorable discharged from active duty on June 11, 2006. I then went into the Army Reserves with the 3/323 INF Drill Sergeants out of Clemson, SC. I spent one year with that unit. After 8 months with no military involvement I went back into the Army National Guard with the 1050th Transportation Battalion out of Newberry, SC. I am still currently with that unit.  Some of the awards I have earned are the Army Commendation Medal (Second Award), Army Acheivement Medal (Second Award), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Mechanics Badge, and Rifle Expert Badge. I also have a number of Letters of Commedation and Letters of Acheivement as well as a good number of extra classes I have attened. 

       I have a wonderful fiancée, Kayla, and three beautiful children, Brianna, age 7, Hannah, age 4, and Tanner, age 1. I am working toward my Bachelors degree in Business Management and wish to transfer to Clemson University.
