ENG 101

ENG 101 teaches students how to write an effective essay paper to either persuade, to inform, or to entertain the reader. It also helps the student with the structure of the paragraphs and to use correct punctuation and grammar. Dr. Norcross stressed a lot on how to cite sources correctly and to have little to no errors. In this class, We have written a few essays. One was a compare and contast essay on a topic of our choice and another essay was a cause and effect. We also wrote six different journal entries after reading some short stories in our books. These journals would express our feelings or thoughts about the articles.

Objective: This is the IHOP logo for their restaurants. It stands for the International House of Pancakes. They serve many breakfast dishes as well as dinner plates. It is a restaurant where you can sit down and enjoy a meal. A host is there to great you at the door with a smile and a waiter or waitress is there to take the orders.

Subjective: This image relates to me because I have been working at a IHOP restaurant for about two years. I work as one of the top waiters at that particular restaurant and I also host if the restaurant is short a person. I enjoy doing my job there and meeting new people every day that I work. I do not like pancakes much anymore. After seeing hundreds go through out the restaurant, I personally do not want to even look at them.

ENG 101 Essay

Reflection: This essay was one of my better works in ENG 101. It talks about High School vs. College. Writing this paper was one of my stronger points since I am a new college student trying to adjust from a high school setting. Completing this paper helped me see the many ways of how high schools are different from colleges. Colleges ask much more from the students in a shorter amount of time. This paper I would give to any of my friends that are about to graduate high school so they will know what is in store when they finally get here. There are many differences between high schools and colleges, but they both help the student become more skilled in their line of work that they want to pursue in life.
