Sociology 101 is a class that helps us to learn about how people act and why people do the things that they do. In this class you learn about the reasons things happen and how one thing effects another. It also teaches you about why changes within our society have come about and which factors lead to these changes. This class teaches us about how societies work and why they change the way that they do.
The essay that I chose is the first essay that we wrote in sociology and it is about the three functions that are used to describe how a society works. In this paper I talked about how these three functions work together and against each other to make societies work and to benefit the people of the society. I struggled to write this paper because I was not real sure what Mrs. Donavan was looking for or how she wanted our papers to be written. This was a challenging paper for me to write but in the end it paid off because it helped me to learn the three functions and how each one of them plays a role in our society.Before I wrote this paper I had no idea about these three functions nor had I ever given it any thought. After wrighting this paper I catch myself thinking about how this affected that and which function would cause it to happen
