HIS 101

History 101 is, at this time, my most enjoyable class. We are learning about western civilization from ancient times to 1689. In order to pass this class, you must attend class everyday and be prepare to take notes. In History 101, I take about three pages of notes every class, so its very important to be there. Four tests, four quizzes, and four writing assignments make up the grading scale. Roger Flynn is my teacher for this class and he is one of the best teachers I have came across in my school experience. In high school, I found history to be a very dull subject. Mr. Flynn, however, does a good job of making the subject good and easy to learn. I plan on passing this class with an A.

The assignment for the essay "Construction in Ancient Egypt" was to watch a movie in class, take notes, and write the essay only from the notes from the movie, nothing from the book or previous notes. I learned how to take notes from movies in an organization manner. The knowledge I learned from writing this essay was about the pyramids, dams, and cities in Ancient Egypt and how they effect Egyptians' lives. Writing this essay was an independent assignment so I relied on my own notes and memory from the movie. I also learned to give myself more time when writing papers because this paper had a lot of grammar errors. Mr. Flynn was not grading for grammar errors, however, just to see if we learned the information. I made a 25 out of 25 on this paper.
