I am Daniel Jevremovic, a current student at Foothill Community college. This is my first year, and I will hopefully be accepted for transfer at Berkeley or UCLA next fall. I was born in Zagreb, Croatia and besides speaking English, I speak Croatian fluently. 

    I am currently undecided about my major. My first choice would be to major in business and transfer to Berkeley because I would like to go into consulting and finance someday. My second choice is somewhere between law and economics, however, I prefer subjects which are less abstract and focus more upon what can be done in the real world. Regardless of the major I choose, my mastery of English will be crucial to my success. I am fortunate that I have never had to struggle with English as a subject but I do recognize that there is always room for improvement. My English skills must grow in the future if I expect to advance in whatever career I choose. In business, communication is crucial and English (language) is the medium for that communication to take place. The ability to transmit messages effectively and manipulate their effect on the receiver can often be the deciding factor within a business deal or argument. In English 1A Honors I was able to learn a lot more about how to communicate effectively and you the viewer can see my progress here on my ePortfolio.

    Entering Foothill was a major step for me; it introduced me to a very different environment from high school. Beyond the classroom skills I developed to express myself, Foothill's diversity taught me a lot about intrapersonal relations and communication. In the two quarters that I have been at Foothill, I feel as though both my perspective and beliefs have changed. I have been fortunate enough to have the chance to develop myself academically as well as work on my personal weaknesses.
