I believe the best teaching framework for me is one in which...
* students learn how to learn and understand the larger purpose behind their learning.
* teachers serve their students by acting as a guide and allow them to overcome barriers in subject matter through cooperative problem solving.
* teachers organize information and relate it to more powerful connections--something that the learners have experienced, are familiar with, or interested in, which ideally, encourages a greater amount of involvement through self-expression and passion.
* deeper and more reflective kinds of thinking are elicited through teacher questioning.
* students are allowed to create patterns, schema, strategies, and rules that increase their control over their environment.
* students can experiment, examine models, and reflect on their prior knowledge and experiences in order to connect and develop new schema and strategies that incorporate new information.
