Furious Butterfly Musical Painting (Art I) Students will create a composition using medium(s) of their choice to depict a moment of Furious Butterfly. This can be more abstracted to represent the emotion of the song, or realistic to represent the lyrics. This project will focus on use of creativity, symbolism, and expression. Creativity	Poor Student showed no evidence of original thought.	Needs Improvement Student tried an idea that lacked originality, or copied one source entirely. Fulfilled all aspects of assignment but with little attempt at creating something unique.	Good Student tried a few ideas before selecting one, or used an idea from someone else's work.	Excellent Student explored multiple ideas before selecting one, generated many versions, tried new combinations, and used problem-solving skills.
Craftsmanship	Poor Poor craftsmanship, sloppy finishing, little to no effort put into cleanup.	Needs Improvement Shows average craftsmanship, a little careless in some areas.	Good With a little more effort, the work would be outstanding, needs minor improvements.	Excellent Artwork was beautifully and carefully done, it was as good as hard work can make it.
Timeliness	Poor Student showed no effort in finishing their project.	Needs Improvement Student was not consistently working, often inattentive or talking in class, rarely prepared for class.	Good Student was often on task, had few distractions in class, usually had materials prepared.	Excellent Student willingly participated in activities, determined to finish on time, little to no distractions in class, always is prepared with materials.
